Nashville Boogie

It's almost here!!  Nashville Boogie will be here before you know it and I can't wait!!  May 18th -21st, with an awesome pre-bowl party on the 17th!

 This will be year 3 and I'm just as excited now as I was the first year.  Muddy Roots Music produces the show and brings the masses a weekend full of great rockabilly music to appease your ears.  This is one of the largest music events of the season and it shouldn't be missed.  And not to mention the venue is one of the most gorgeous places in the South East.  Walk around in the atriums of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, kick your heels up and relax near a waterfall, or go take a dance lesson or two.  

There are several places to eat inside the hotel and room service of course, but be prepared to spend a little bit of money if you do.  But, if push comes to shove walk over to the mall and eat at the RainForest Cafe or Johnny Rockets.  Plus, Waffle House is just up the road for that late night drunken need for greasy food. You know we've all be there.  :)

 Also, once again I'll be offering budget shoots for all you ladies and GENTS out there!  I try to keep my prices reasonable because I know its a long, pricey haul for some of you and its hard to afford a lot of extras.  I've shot in this hotel for the last two Boogie events and have experience working with the funky lighting in all the atriums, which translates to I kinda know what I'm doing.  :D  PLUS, this is the best place for some awesome tiki inspired shoots.  Got that tiki dress that's been sitting in the back of your closet and you've not had a chance to wear it yet?  Drag that baby out, book a shoot with me and lets do some tiki!  I'm very excited about this year and hope to make some amazing memories with you and some rad photos!  *Below you'll find some of my past photos*

Photographer Etiquette On Current Events

As I sit here at work,  yes I have a real job, I'm watching Facebook and all its glory.  Sometimes I wonder why people do the things they do then I realize its not always worth energy trying to figure it out.  ðŸ˜‚   However, one thing that I see over and over again that kind of grinds my gears.  So this is the Atomic City Photography's version of "What Really Grinds My Gears" by Peter Griffin from Family Guy. What really grinds my gears is photographers who forget they are running a business.  Face it social media is what gets us noticed and our main means of communicating to the world "HERE I AM LOOK AT MY WORK I AM AWESOME!!!"  We all do it and that's how we promote ourselves and our work.  Its how we draw inspiration by seeing others and their images.  Social media can be a good thing, a great spring board and a great way to inspire others. New Faces

In March I went to a shoot out called Click for Pets and we raised enough money to sponsor elderly dogs and cats at a local animal shelter.  Anyone who knows me, knows that I don't participate in group events like this and I rarely step outside of the pinup box.  However, this year I told myself that I was going to break out of the mold and start doing things that are not of my norm.   I had the honor of working with Izzy.  Not only is she a beautiful young lady, but she has something about her that just captives you and draws you in and you just have to shoot her.  I am very happy to have been able to have work with her and its been such an amazing journey so far with this girl.  I can't wait to shoot with her more in the future.   Plus, she has a cool mom!! She is one of the most creative people I know and she's always brainstorming for the next big idea for Izzy's shoots.  Often times you'll find her making crowns with beads, lugging wardro...
